Emma started her career in family law in Dundee before moving to Aberdeen. She brings with her a wealth of experience in appearing regularly in the Sheriff Court in family law and child law matters. Emma also has experience of assisting with Court of Session divorces and became accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Family Law in 2021.
Emma is trained in the collaborative method of dispute resolution in 2018 and sits on the Consensus National Committee. Emma advises on a wide range of family matters, including: separation, divorce, pre and post nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, cohabitation claims on death, child residence and contact, rights relating to parental rights and responsibilities and adoption. Emma also advises on other family law matters such as exhumation. She has a particular interest in cases involving international issues and cross border jurisdictional issues.
Emma is a member of The Family Law Association, Consensus Collaboration Scotland and is also a Notary Public.
Out of the office she runs a local playgroup for children aged 0-5 years and enjoys socialising with friends and family. Emma also enjoys reading and baking.
