Jonathan Kee

Jonathan Kee

Family & Civil Solicitor - Managing Partner

Jonathan is the firm’s Managing Partner and established Kee Solicitors in 2018.

His background is in family and civil law and he has a breadth of experience across most of Scotland’s Courts and Tribunals. He has acted for clients in a number of complex circumstances in cases involving financial disputes through divorce and separation, child contact and residence, parental rights and responsibilities, children’s hearings, fatal accident enquiries, guardianships, adoption, executries, wills, power of attorney, medical negligence, mental health tribunals and civil litigation disputes. During his career he has been involved in high profile cases which have helped to shape Family Law in Scotland.

Jonathan’s efforts are now focused on maintaining the firm’s high standards of service whilst ensuring that we remain innovative and adapt as we grow in order to best assist our clients.

When not working Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family. He likes to play golf, albeit not very well and follows boxing having been an amateur boxer in his youth. He also has a keen interest in cars, motorbikes, keeps up with Formula 1 and enjoys socialising with friends.


Emma Somerville

Emma Somerville

Accredited Specialist Family Solicitor - Partner

Emma started her career in family law in Dundee before moving to Aberdeen. She brings with her a wealth of experience in appearing regularly in the Sheriff Court in family law and child law matters. Emma also has experience of assisting with Court of Session divorces and became accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Family Law in 2020.

Emma is trained in the collaborative method of dispute resolution in 2018 and sits on the Consensus National Committee. Emma advises on a wide range of family matters, including: separation, divorce, pre and post nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, cohabitation claims on death, child residence and contact, rights relating to parental rights and responsibilities and adoption. Emma also advises on other family law matters such as exhumation. She has a particular interest in cases involving international issues and cross border jurisdictional issues.

Emma is a member of The Family Law Association, Consensus Collaboration Scotland and is also a Notary Public.

Out of the office she runs a local playgroup for children aged 0-5 years and enjoys socialising with friends and family. Emma also enjoys reading and baking.


Pauline Ward

Civil, Family and Housing Solicitor – Associate

Pauline 's legal career commenced in 2001 where she started out in civil litigation and housing law, appearing in courts throughout the central belt. Over her career Pauline has developed her passion for advocacy and court craft gaining significant experience across a broad range of legal fields. These include Family and Child Law, Landlord and Tenant, Commercial Litigation, Consumer law, Adults with Incapacity, The Care and Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults, Personal Injury and Contractual Disputes. She is often to be found regularly in the Sheriff Courts and in the First Tier Tribunal for Scotland (Housing and Property Chamber). She has experience conducting Appeals in the Sheriff Appeal Court and in the Court of Session.

Pauline is trained in Collaborative Practice and Mediation. She holds current appointments as a Court Welfare Reporter for Greenock Sheriff Court and as a Quality Assurance Peer Reviewer for the Law Society of Scotland. Pauline is a Member of the Family Law Association and is also a Notary Public.

When not at work, Pauline relaxes by reading, cooking and is an avid Gamer.


Dean Gallacher

Dean is a Solicitor and Notary Public who specialises in family and civil law. He previously volunteered as an adviser in Citizens Advice Bureau whilst completing his studies to provide free advice to those in his local community. He studied at the University of Glasgow where he completed his Bachelor of Law (LLB (Hons)) and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice having spent ten months studying at the University of Ghent, Belgium as part of his studies. He completed his traineeship in 2022 having worked in high street law firms before joining the team at Kee Solicitors in May 2023.

Dean has experience appearing in various Courts throughout Scotland dealing with a variety of civil actions including cases involving the custody of children, divorce, separation, cohabitant’s claims, payment actions, Powers of Attorney, Welfare and Financial Guardianships and more. Dean has a polite, honest and transparent approach with clients. He ensures that his clients are fully informed of their legal remedies and speaks in plain English to ensure his clients understand their position fully. He is focused on delivering a swift and effective solution to his client’s legal problems.

Out of the office, Dean enjoys travelling and spending time socialising with his family and friends. He likes to stay active by taking part in different sports such as football and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and also likes attending live sporting events with his friends


Lesley Burgoyne

Lesley Burgoyne

Family Solicitor

Lesley was admitted to the roll of Solicitors in 2018 and specialises in the practice of family law. She worked extensively with children before studying at The University of Glasgow, initially getting her MA (Hons) in Classics, before completing a Bachelor of Law (LLB) and Diploma in Legal Practice.

Lesley undertook her traineeship with a large firm in Glasgow, where she worked in their Family, Conveyancing and Private Client departments. This has provided her with a deeper understanding of how these areas interact, especially in relation to cohabitant provision on death and matrimonial transfer of property. Lesley has an understanding and honest approach, which allows her to relate to clients and identify how best to meet their needs.

Outside of work, Lesley enjoys climbing and going to concerts with friends. She also loves to cook and spend time with family.


Rachel Dornan

Rachel began her studies at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) where she completed her Bachelor of Law (LLB (Hons)), before being accepted to The University of Edinburgh to complete the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. During her time at University, she was a member of the GCU Law Clinic, where she received extensive training in client interviewing and relations. She is very proud to have received the Royal Faculty of Advocates award for Best Dissertation for the academic session 2020/21 for her Dissertation on Scottish Domestic Abuse law. Rachel has a keen interest in taking a client focused approach to her work and has always had a passion for family law.

She likes to spend her free time with my family and friends and enjoy taking part in various fitness activities such as hill-walking and playing badminton. She loves travelling to new places and learning about different cultures.

Dawn is an experienced secretary who joined Kee Solicitors in 2019. She is an invaluable and highly capable member of the team with over 20 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary and PA. She is proficient in delivering the secretarial services required in a professional environment and ensures attention to detail providing the best of service for each and every client.

When not at her desk, Dawn enjoys travelling and exploring the UK, as well as reading and socialising with friends and family.

Lisa has an extensive background in professional customer service and events management in the hospitality industry. At Kee Solicitors her role is to ensure smooth service delivery and client satisfaction, which is achieved with her excellent relationship building and organisation skill set. Lisa’s non-legal background is essential in helping the firm provide a balanced and client focused service.

Out of the office she enjoys exercising, either in the gym or running outdoors, as well as spend time socialising with friends and travelling, usually to a warmer climate.


Laura Gillespie

Laura kicked off her studies at Edinburgh Napier University where she recently completed her Bachelor of Law (LLB (Hons)) and served as Manager Director of the Edinburgh Napier Law Clinic where she was responsible for leading a team of legal students, providing training and assisting them with developing their skills in face to face client interaction. Laura also served on a number of committees during her time at the university, including the Edinburgh Napier Law Review and Edinburgh Napier Law Society, distinguishing herself as a stand-out within her graduation class.

Now a Diploma student at the University of Glasgow, Laura is relishing the opportunity to gain further experience in the practical side of her legal studies and is continuing to pursue her passion for family law and conveyancing.

Away from work, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling and is also a very talented piano player.


Brad Rossi

Brad studied his Bachelor of Law (LLB (Hons)) at Glasgow Caledonian University where he played a key and active role within the GCU Law Society, responsible for the promotion of the society’s calendar of events and open days. Brad also took on the added responsibility of providing mentorship to fellow law students, aiding in the development of practical skills like client communication, legal research and contributing to the shared objectives of the wider team.

Taking on an important role in the firm’s legal support team, Brad works closely with our secretarial and legal staff to maintain the high standard of service that our clients expect, whilst pursuing his passion for a range of different areas of law.

Away from the office, Brad is a keen and talented golfer and recently set his sights on mastering skiing, as well as continuing to pursue his passion for travelling.
